About Alex Housley

Alex has been founding and building technology companies since 2003, focusing on mobile, data, and machine learning (ML). While developing a startup that delivered personalized news article recommendations to hundreds of millions of readers across national and regional publications, he experienced firsthand the challenges of scaling model deployment infrastructure. Motivated to address these challenges, he founded Seldon in 2014 with the aim of democratizing ML operations to solve the world's most pressing issues.

Seldon became the first open-source MLOps platform built on Kubernetes, specializing in ML deployment and the production lifecycle of models. Under Alex's leadership as CEO and CPTO, it has powered model deployments for global industry leaders across sectors, including automotive, banking, insurance, life sciences, big tech, and defence. Seldon has deployed over 10 million models and developed tools for effective model oversight and ethical AI practices. Over the last decade, he has played a key role in shaping the MLOps industry, delivering measurable and meaningful results for clients worldwide. Seldon has raised over $30 million in funding from leading venture capitalists and angel investors.
