Build Robust AI Solutions For The Real World: With Empathy, Integrity, and Responsibility
Wednesday 15th October 2025 • 4:20 PM - 4:50 PMThis talk shares my experience of building AI and GenAI applications for credit and collections from scratch, work we’ve been doing over the past 5 years. We trained & fine-tuned our own models, building the entire AI ecosystem covering the data journey & building custom MLOps pipelines. The talk will go into the work we did in figuring out the features and AI and UX work we developed in dealing with very sensitive conversation around personal finance, and how this helped our customers in credit and collections to ultimately help people in arrears.
The talk will cover what actually worked and what didn’t in building a robust ecosystem to solve AI Engineering problems, including how to handle sensitive conversations with customers who are struggling financially, automating outreach without losing the human touch, and using AI to help human agents while staying compliant and empathetic. In doing so ultimately helping the end customer in debt, ensuring the decisions the AI makes are explainable. I will also cover what we did to ensure the work the AI does is done at a high level, ensuring scalability.
