From Infinite Possibilities to Finite Results - What Handwriting Can Teach Us About How AI Works

We have tools today that use Artificial Intelligence to translate handwriting into text. Reliably predicting the intentions of the human holding the pen, despite the infinite variations in input. How does this work?

In this talk we’ll use handwriting as a demonstration of how AI can be applied in the real world. Anand will explain the fundamental mechanisms and concepts of artificial intelligence including the basics of machine learning, deep learning, and simplify the math behind AI.

Of course AI isn’t magic and has limitations. With a new understanding of how it all works under the hood we’ll dive into the challenges and limitations of AI today, and how researchers and practitioners are addressing these issues.
